My sweet Emma,

I will never forget the special day of May 31, 1994.  That was the day we found each other at the Edmonton SPCA.  I fell in love with you instantly and, from the moment I brought you home, it was as if we had known each other forever.

Thank you for being my best friend for seventeen years.  I will always remember your playfulness, your courage, the sweet scent of your forehead, like candy, when I kissed you there, and the little tapping of your paw on my face.  You were always so gentle and caring.

Thank you for bringing such love and joy into this life.  I am so honoured that you shared your precious life with me and let me love you so much.  There will never be another like you.  I miss you every day and I will love you forever.
